A climate change superhero has been designed by pupils at Kings Heath Primary after school club. The competition ran by Birmingham Cutting CO2 asked the children to create an animation character based on the themes of cutting your carbon footprint, environmental and health issues.
The project ran for three weeks in which the children also had the opportunity to develop their artistic skills with local artist Posh attending the after school sessions.
Third prize went to Felix Kai, aged seven and second prize was won by nine-year-old Hannah Wade. The first prize winner was Isobel Kai, aged 11, who will have her drawing professionally framed and exhibited from 9th – 12th August in Jibbering Records in Moseley, the picture will also be featured on their website www.jibberingrecords.com
Jordan Morris after school club coordinator said “This has been a great project for the children, they really got involved and understood the message, I’m very proud of all the effort they put in”.
